Soft Radio EP

Album cover

The songs on Soft Radio tell a story of love, complacency, taking chances, and giving in. The lyrics are familiar yet simple, the instrumental arrangements are experimental, and Rob’s powerfully mature vocal harmonies tie it all together seamlessly. The album isn’t overly produced—one song didn’t even have words when Rob recorded it on the first take—but there are some inventive mixing techniques utilized within and between each song. Overall, the mood that radiates from this album is one of relaxation, though there are hints of melancholy and even a bit of perplexity interspersed throughout.

Rob is willing to acknowledge that he wants to make a name for himself and his band beginning with this EP, but interestingly, he is adamant almost to a fault about not being categorized as a “sounds like, looks like” band. When asked who AIRLINE sounds like, the band remains intent on letting listeners draw their own conclusions about the music. Rob will only go so far as to say that his songs could be classified as “throwback rock” and that his music is constantly changing as he gets older and progresses musically.
