Sound description: Country with a bluegrass influence
City: Sherman, TX
Web site: http://www.allenhurt.com
Allen Hurt began performing at the age of 10, playing guitar and singing. After many years of performing solo, Allen decided to put together The Heart of Texas Band, with whom he performed until 2007.
During his career of over 20 years, Allen has been providing quality entertainment. Allen has written over 1700 songs, holding a traditional country and bluegrass style to each one. These songs are written and performed from the heart, and have received airplay on both country and Americana stations.
Allen is a member of the Fort Worth Songwriters Association and a Grand Ole Opry member since 1990. He was awarded the Texas Music Legends Award in 2005 and inducted into the Louisiana Legacy Of Stars Hall Of Fame in 2007.
