Fiddler and vocalist for Thrift Store Cowboys, Amanda Shires also has an itch for solo work and released her first CD in 2005, Being Brave. She is a classically trained violinist, and she was also an original member of Lanny Fiel's Ranch Dance Fiddle Band before landing with the Cowboys. Amanda graduated from the acclaimed music school of South Plains College in Levelland, as well as Texas Tech University.

In 2007, Amanda moved to Nashville to pursue her solo career, but still plays frequently in the DFW area.
