Audioponic started out as a three-piece band named "Superfreak." They played the North Texas circuit at venues like Trees, Curtain Club, Ridglea Theater, and the Aardvark. Superfreak then branched out into cover tunes, but in 2005 they kicked the crappy cover songs to the curb, sold their souls to Satan and changed their name.
