Born on Long Island in 1979, Ayiesha has lived in Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Texas and Bermuda. As a result, her unique sound is spiced with dancehall and Caribbean influences.

The granddaughter of a professional musician and the daughter of a musical man, Ayiesha was surrounded with opportunities to hone and develop her natural talent. Throughout high school she sang in chorus, played in the school band, harmonized in the church choir and participated in musical ensembles.

In 2004, Ayiesha became the first female to win the Producer of the Year award from the Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards. That same year she also received the Marlin Awards for New Artist of the Year and Contemporary Vocal Performance of the Year (Female). Her debut album, Introducing Ayiesha Woods, was released in 2006.
