Chris Andrews (aka "The Big Smoo") learned to play guitar from his father when he was 11 years old. By the time Chris was 13, he was playing the club scene with his dad, who would introduce him as his "little brother."

Growing up in the Beaumont, Texas area, Chris was exposed to lots of musical influences. In his teenage years he played in various rock and bluegrass bands, then was drawn to the "new country" music of Willie, Waylon and Jerry Jeff Walker. Ultimately, Chris settled down with a Fender Stratocaster, a '68 Super Reverb, '72 Vibrolux and started cranking out roadhouse blues.

Akira Sato Jazz trumpeter Akira Sato, by way of Tokyo, Japan and Vancouver, Canada, is an SMU faculty member and director of The Meadow Jazz Orchestra at SMU. He is also an adjunct faculty member at UNT where he teaches jazz arranging. Sato is also heading into the studio soon with other area musicians and playing at the Scat Jazz Lounge tonight. With all that he's up to, the least you could do is order a Scotch on the rocks and chill to some tunes. (Photo by flickr user arteunporro. More info
