Blue Lisa is a native Texan, born in Oak Cliff. She began singing professionally in 1984 and hasn't stopped since. She spent time in the eighties on the road with her rock band Twice Shy. She later played in various other bands including Against The Law and The Reach until an early nineties Lou Ann Barton and Derek O'Brien show made her a disciple of the Blues. Early on in her Blues career, she formed Blue Lisa & the Howling Dogs with the Son Henry. Since 1999, Blue Lisa has been the host of KNON 89.3 FM's BIG TEXAS BLUES radio program where she has had the honor of interviewing (among others) Bobby "Blue" Bland, Sue Foley, Marcia Ball, Candye Kane, Pat Boyack, and Denny Freeman.
