Burning Mona began in late 2002 with guitarist/vocalist Pete Wicher asking guitarist Jake Stevens to start a band that would be able to pull from all musical styles. Shortly after, they asked John Craddock to be their drummer and he brought Pat Clark on bass. Not long after that, Chris McGeachy was added to the lineup to complete the open lead guitar spot. The band complete and the music solid, Burning Mona has been slowly, but steadily working their way into many profitable positions. The music is as diverse as the influences of each band member, but it still is all one style...their own. Burning Mona has been prominently featured in the Motion Picture Sountrack for the Indie thriller Darkest Days and just recently Burning Mona has been added to the soundtrack for a new movie by director Christian Kiel.

Akira Sato Jazz trumpeter Akira Sato, by way of Tokyo, Japan and Vancouver, Canada, is an SMU faculty member and director of The Meadow Jazz Orchestra at SMU. He is also an adjunct faculty member at UNT where he teaches jazz arranging. Sato is also heading into the studio soon with other area musicians and playing at the Scat Jazz Lounge tonight.
