Calhoun is a conglomeration of Dallas/Ft. Worth’s finest musicians. Everyone in the band is a veteran of the local music scene and can be considered nothing less than the best at what they do.
Calhoun was born to frontman Tim Locke as an alt-country side project. Initially, various local musicians who happened to have the night off from playing with their own bands supported him on stage to promote the 2003 release of The Year That Never Was. Since that time, Calhoun has far surpassed side project status, and fans have come to expect a solid line up of VIPs on stage at Calhoun shows.
Calhoun is definitely a performance band. While their CD is amazing, it doesn’t quite capture the rawness and spontaneity that sets Calhoun apart from other bands. Despite the vast number of up and coming bands and musicians in the DFW area, Calhoun has quickly become one of the best things the music scene has going for it.
