Camerata Winds, Inc. is committed to performing the finest in chamber music for wind instruments in family friendly settings, and to furthering education in the community through its subscription concerts and educational outreach programs. Founded in 2004, the ensemble consists of nineteen professional musicians from the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Under the direction of James Rives-Jones, Music Director & Conductor, the ensemble provides entertaining and enlightening performances that cross an eclectic spectrum from classical to popular and contemporary music. The home venue for the Camerata Winds is the warm and intimately casual setting of the First United Lutheran Church in Lakewood/East Dallas. Camerata Winds also performs regularly throughout the Dallas area in churches, schools, museums and for private events. The ensemble frequently adds strings and other instrumentation to perform the full repertoire of the chamber orchestra.
In addition to the support of its board members, Camerata Winds encourages and enjoys an active volunteer program. Through participation in Camerata Winds concerts, outreach and special events, music lovers of all ages are developing an intimate understanding of music performance and arts management.
