Carusoe
- Sound Description:
- Eclectic rock with bossa nova, jazz and country influences
Founded 2005, based in Dallas, TX
Carusoe has had a short but colorful history. The earliest rooting came in the form of Bandhole, where all three members of Carusoe first began working together. Bandhole was an experiment in improv and rock 'n roll, colliding in a horrific accident with rap and jazz. Not only that, but it was one of the FIRST bands listed in the ipodder.org directory. In early 2005, Bobby B. Bandhole decided to explore greener pastures and focus on college studies. Bandhole is gone but not forgotten.
From the ashes of Bandhole, the three remaining members decided to team up with Brandon Barker, forming The Furious Weasels. While short-lived, they had some fun times exploring 2:45 songs with lots of distortion. Then one day, Bad B. excused himself stage-right. This left the three remaining members, once again, searching for a reason. And so Carusoe was born.
Since it's inception, Carusoe has focused on a softer sound with smooth melodies. Lots of bossa nova influence, jazz and even country - which lends to an interesting sound. At least they like to think so.
