When its twelve loop noose time, Chatterton won't talk you out of it, but they can fray the knot a bit. They won't knock the revolver away from your temple, but they can help you out with a misfire. They aren't without heart, but they don't want to see you just waltz on by either.
Take your lumps.
If you have a goal in mind, if you have a bone to pick, a cause to peddle – they want to see you make it, but you have to accept the pain and the consequences.
With canny arrangements and the melodic juxtaposition of guitars and keys reminiscent of the wry smile and fond recollection of scars one gets while perusing the family photo album, Chatterton will keep you away from the edge. But just from it.
Lyrics born more from truth than one would care to imagine fuel stories bound by the dark audiophilic frames of these caretakers, each song/poem/feeling fiercely guarded by arms wielding pens, picks, and sticks.
Chatterton keeps the faith - you supply the object of devotion.
They are your biggest fans, the anhedonic friend that lives vicariously through you. Dark, perhaps, but how can you truly know darkness without the occasional punctuation of light?
Even with your hands tied behind your back, you can still snap your fingers, and you can still hear the music.
All they ask is that you listen.
