The Color Gray is a blend of edgy, straightforward rock and positive energy. The power trio conveys clear messages with a powerful sound created by driving guitars, melodic vocals and tight rhythms. Conversational, yet poetic, the lyrics speak of serious issues and feelings, without being excessively disturbed or artificially weighted.
All three band members met from chance meetings at the University of North Texas. Following a few weeks of practice together, the group started playing original material under the handed-down name of "Redtag" from Chris's high school band. But after a year of performing, the group decided to rename themselves The Color Gray to mark the new maturity, direction and significance of their connection. The Color Gray is a name that describes an identity: a combination of the nuances of separate qualities, which all meet in the middle for a beautiful, blended result.
