Sound description: Western swing with echoes of Americana, rockabilly and country
City: Dallas, TX
Web site: http://www.cowboysandindiansband.com
After a brief hiatus, Dallas' former kings of western swing are back with a new lineup and a fresh sound. With an over 10-year history, Cowboys and Indians have foregone the horns this time and have a new line-up. The sound is new tooâmore streamlined, with echoes of Americana, rockabilly, and country, in addition to their familiar western swing leanings. Founding member, bandleader and songwriter Erik Swanson and bassist Larry Reed regrouped and recruited new guitarist Marc Daigle and drummer Todd Unruh from the Dallas music scene in 2004. On occassion, Rob Stave and Todd Pertll, on fiddle and pedal steel respectively, round out the lineup. The band is a ton of fun to see and hear live! Come hear the newest incarnation of a true Texas original.
