Dondria majored in Music Education while in college and grew in fame as a result of YouTube videos she regularly posted of her singing. In 2008 she signed to Jermaine Dupri's So So Def/Island Urban roster, quickly followed by her debut single, "Can't Stop," and album.
Her YouTube name, Phatfffat, was given to her by her fans. "I'm a Capricorn who loves music like a fat kid loves cake!"
