Dooney "Da Priest"

“DOONEY”, better known as “Da Priest”, is a rapper and an ordained Minister who works as part of Shepherd’s Staff at the Potter’s House under the leadership of Bishop T.D. Jakes of Dallas. He is considered to have a controversial, yet unique, urban sound with a savvy hardcore street beat. The rapper stresses that the purpose of his music is not to “crossover, but to bring the cross over”.

Dooney founded Peculiar Records as a haven for upcoming artists and has been recognized for multiple achievements including the “2004/2005/2006 Texas Gospel Rap Artist Award, presented by Texas Gospel Music Guild. Additionally, he and his business manager, evangelist D. Nurse, are founders of Sold Out Entertainment/Dance Ministries, a mentoring organization that embraces urban youth and urban culture.
