RIYL: Ween, Tenacious D, The Presidents, Chaka Kahn
Formed: 2000
City: Dallas, TX

Combining off-the-wall wit with solid musicianship, the band has been compared to Ween, Tenacious D, and Frank Zappa. Their live show – complete with shtick, spontaneity, and mayhem – is sometimes closer to an Andy Kaufman spectacle than a rock concert.
In their short time together, Honchie has built an impressive fan base in Dallas, playing weekends at venues such as Club Dada, Trees, Curtain Club and the Gypsy Tea Room. They’ve also played key festivals, including North By Northeast in Toronto, North Texas Music Festival and more.
