Band History

Jarrod Birmingham, the 2005 MTM (My Texas Music) Entertainer of the Year, hails from the Texas Gulf Coast. He is every bit a product of the Lone Star State, which propels a mindset of total independence. Listing Billy Joe Shaver as his favorite songwriter of all time, Birmingham’s musical background and lifestyle is every bit country music. He grew up listening to everything from Chris LeDoux to Lynyrd Skynyrd.

When not at home on his Texas farm or in the recording studio, Birmingham can be found on the road playing his own brand of country music. Birmingham has already reached the 1,000 show milestone and shows no signs of slowing.

Never ashamed of where he comes from, Birmingham boasts a log of hard knocks that make your typical “tough-guy” look delicate. Before touring the world sharing his country music with his fans, Birmingham spent nearly all of his time in the professional bull-riding arena. He has broken nearly every type of bone in his body, has 14 plates in his face, a fake knee, a shoulder pinned - and that’s simply the beginning. Jarrod explains his motivation as a performer, “I’m not trying to be the prettiest guy in country music, I’m just trying to be the most real.” Having mostly left behind the rodeo world, Birmingham admits, “I never really quit riding bulls, the music just sort of took over.” You might not see him on a bull anytime soon, but you’re likely to see him on a Harley.

Birmingham’s parents influenced him more as a person than as a musician. They taught him his work ethic, instilled in him the ability to dream, and helped him realize he had to work for what he wanted, and that you can’t get anything with a positive attitude alone. Jarrod’s Granddad played the guitar and fiddle, a sound and memory that became a part of who Jarrod is today.

Birmingham’s third in-studio album, and first with Tilo Entertainment Group, No Apologies, was released in early 2006.
