City: Dallas, TX

Says J.D.: "I live and work in Dallas, TX. I write songs. I watch too much TV. I drink too much coffee. I feel guilty when I eat french fries. I'm now addicted to ebay. I should get out more, but when I do, I just get drunk and act stupid. I long to play music and then, when I do, I don't want to be doing that. I love Buddha, though I'm now officially a Catholic. I'm told I'm hard to get to know. I think it's because people assume there's more to me than there actually is. I'm actually pretty shallow. I sing flat and I know it. I believe Born To Run saved rockandroll. I think I could be a terrific dirt track racer. I'm poised for a rockandroll comeback. I used to have a band called Trainwreck."

Redefining the Disfranchised: The Political Art of Nina Allender As we continue to celebrate the 88th Anniversary of Women's Right to Vote, there's a prime opportunity to view influential art from the era. Nina Evans Allender drew political cartoons for The Suffragist from 1914 into the 1920s, transforming stereotypical views of who a suffragist was. Over the years, Allender contributed more than 250 political cartoons to the movement, a number of which are on display at the Women's Museum at Fair Park. More info
