Band History

Crossing the language border with musica, Johnny Gonzales mixes the music of latin, spanish and flamenco guitar with dance, electronica, pop and rock entertainment. He can be caught singing and playing everything from top-40 to today's current latin hits.

In his early years, Johnny received mariachi, flamenco and classical guitar training. He mastered his vocals and guitar in Nashville, Tennessee, and has traveled abroad to Israel, France, Sweden, the UK and Spain.

After a five-year stint in Nashville, Johnny moved back to Dallas in 2001 and became the lead male vocalist/guitarist for a top-40 band performing at such places as Memphis, Cool River, Carson's Palace, as well as at festivals and private/corporate parties. After finishing the top-40 gig, Johnny was invited by the local Musicians Union to perform an all latin vocal and acoustic set at the 2002 Taste of Dallas festival, where he was warmly received for his renditions of latin pop artists such as Alejandro Sanz, Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin.

His first singles "Tatuaje Mi Corazon" and "Perdida De Tempo" showcased his vocal and writing talent, with both receving airplay on DMX Music, a digital satellite music service. Johnny continued his growth into new frontiers by recording his first solo latin acoustic album, adding his own arrangements to popular latin artists such as Juanes, Shakira and Chayanne. After completing and receiving rave reviews from his fans on his second album, Johnny Gonzales Christmas 2003, Johnny recorded his third album, La Secretos De Mi Amor.

You can see Johnny performing locally or nationally either as an acoustic soloist or with his full band at various venues. Andale gente, get ready!
