At the age of sixteen, Mark received a gift that would change his life. In return for helping his aging grandfather, his parents brought home a new acoustic guitar. He began to teach himself some basic guitar chords from the back of an old Mel Bay Method One guitar music book. In the years that followed, he began to notice the variety of talented songwriters that the state of Texas had to offer.

Mark was a semi-finalist in the BW Stevenson Memorial Songwriters Contest at Poor David's Pub. He has been performing at a variety of well-known music venues such as Poor David's Pub, Love & War in Texas, Texana Grill and Standard and Pours Coffee House. He has been featured five times on "KHYI Fridays" at Bill's Records and Tapes. This emerging musician has also shared a stage with some great local songwriting talent such as Cross Canadian Ragweed, Mark David Manders, Deryl Dodd, Jayson Bales and Phil Pritchett.
