Sound description: Spacey sound collages
Formed: 1993
City: Dallas, TX
Mazinga Phaser started in Denton back in 1993. The band started out as a solo project for Wanz Dover to get away from the punk rock and hardcore scene that he had come up in. The band went through many lineup configurations.
After recording Cruising in the Neon Glories of the New American Night in 1996, Mazinga Phaser went on tour. After another year of sporadic shows everything fell apart. The band released one more album but never played live again.
The band was reactivated by Wanz Dover with the help of a few others. The current configuration was formed to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the first Mazinga Phaser show in 1994 and the band was redubbed "Mazinga Phaser II."
