Founded 2000, based in Haltom City, TX
The Me-Thinks are lame, lazy and unmotivated. We have no desire to make money or become popular. We spend half of our time talking shit and cracking each other up when we really should be practicing. It took us a year to write 10 songs. We are all overweight and not very tall. The only chicks that hang out with the band are either married or nonexistent. We practice in a tin shack in Haltom City. We have been in that tin shack for about 10 years now. All of us drive two-seater cars or pick-up trucks that aren't very fancy. None of us have gold teeth. We spend a lot of time drinking, smoking, and taking pills. Some of us have extensive porn collections. We are old. We are extremely loud to cover the fact that we aren't very good players. We probably won't be playing anywhere outside of the Wreck Room in Fort Worth and we are perfectly cool with that. We don't have a van so our equipment gets wet when it rains. Our bar tab is usually more than the money we were paid. We usually lose stuff. We don't really have a posse. None of us are cool at all. Well Marlin is cool, but you probably wouldn't guess he was. Some of us have had "dry" spells for 5 years or longer. For all intents and purposes, the Me-Thinks are one of the worst all around bands you could have stumbled across. But you know what? We are friendly and we know how to have a good time, so what do you have to lose?
The Me-Thinks are a three-piece rock band. I don't know what kind of rock band–just a fuckin' rock band. We like old tube amps that start to distort when you turn them up past 3. We like Gibson guitars and basses that weigh a million pounds. We like drums made of fine woods and K cymbals crusted with beer. Marlin takes up all the guitar duties. Ray plays bass and sings. And Will plays drums. It's a pretty simple formula. Our shit is free for now so what do you have to lose? So come out to our tin shack in Haltom City or stop by the Wreck Room in Fort Worth and have some drinks with us. Chances are one of us is at the bar.
We recently won the FW Weekly's Best Hard Rock Band 2005 and then took the rest of the year off to celebrate.
