Paul Renna has been working in the music industry for the last 14 years. His soulful sound is a reflection of the passion he feels in his music. Beginning his professional career in Dallas at the age of 17, he was a regular performer in the Deep Ellum music scene. Fronting the band Unknown Figures, he and his band gained popularity during the years they played Deep Ellum venues, opening for bands like Tripping Daisy and Jackopierce.
Upon graduation, Paul played solo for a year while continuing to work the same venues. In 1992, he had the opportunity to move to Austin. He fronted the band Rhythm Child, which went on to become one of Austin's hottest live bands. Rhythm Child opened for such bands as The Ugly Americans, Little Sister and Soulhat. After one live album and a tour opening for Blues Traveler in Alaska, the band parted ways.
Shortly thereafter, Paul formed Jumptrain and toured in Alaska. One album later the band again parted ways. His current band, King Zero, moved back to Dallas from Austin in 2002. The band has been touring and recording non-stop ever since.
Paul recorded a solo album, Portrait, in the early 2000s.
