Formed: 2001
City: Keller, TX
Web site: http://www.thephoenixband.com
Made up mostly of firefighters from Arlington and Dallas, Phoenix has been together since 2001. The band’s founders, Greg Clark (Dallas Fire Department) and David Carroll (Arlington Fire Department) started playing music together over 20 years ago when they were college roommates. With the additions of bass guitarist Bill Owens and drummer Kirk Turner (Arlington Fire Department), Phoenix has “risen from the flames” to concentrate on making music. David’s daughter, Rachel fills in to complete the harmonies and lead female vocals.
Over the years Phoenix has developed a repertoire that consists of a wide variety of music. From Ray Price to George Strait to Billy Currington, Phoenix can handle the country. Or if you're in to classic rock and roll from the '50s, '60s and '70s, they have a style that's sure to make you tap your foot.
