Band History
Professor D is a two-headed musical monster: they are both a dance and variety cover band and play their own original music.
With eight pieces with horns, male and female lead vocals, and one of the tightest rhythm sections in the southwest, Professor D brings an incomparable energy to their dynamic shows. The band plays a huge variety of cover songs, from Motown to disco, funk and R&B to current Top 40 hits. The music hardly ever stops as they segue from one hit to another with their trademark personality and fun.
Professor D's original music is a funk/hip-hop/pop hybrid mixing vocal-based songs and rap-based songs with old-school and new-school grooves. Live horns and a slammin’ rhythm section give some of the tunes a little neo-soul feel, some tunes a straight-up Parliament-type feel, and others even a little rock flava. Lyrically, the songs vary from love stories to flat-out craziness to ones with a little message behind the vibe.

OMG! I can't believe this group is still performing! We had them at Dallas Alley a few times when I worked there (aeons ago!). They were a great band and always had a great response from the audience.
