As the Reverend Horton Heat's front-man, Jim Heath preaches his punkabilly gospel with slicked back hair, flame-tipped suits, gritty voice, and amazing guitar picking. But what to do when you are back at home in Big-D taking a break from touring and still have the itch to get out and play? Well, you call up some local Dallas musicians and start a side project. Thus the birth of Reverend Organ Drum, the side project that sounds more like a main project.
Tim Alexander won five Grammy Awards (Best Country Instrumental Performance 1987, 1988, 1993, 1995, and Best Country Performance by Duo or Group with Vocal 1994) while with western swing legends Asleep At The Wheel from 1984 through 1996. Tim has also been a long time friend of Jim’s and has performed on several Reverend Horton Heat albums. Besides touring with his current band, the roadhouse rockin’ Elvis T. Busboy & The Blues Butchers, Tim is also an in-demand studio musician in the DFW area.
When Jim and Tim were looking for a drummer to round out their trio, they looked no further than Jim’s own next door neighbor, Todd Soesbe. With a background in jazz (schooled in the streets of Worcester, Massachusetts), playing arranged tunes, trading fours, and taking solos is right up his alley. He also sometimes just likes to lay down the groove and let Jim and Tim do their thing.

Laurie Anderson Laurie Anderson is indescribably delicious. She's hitting McFarlin tonight with her new show, Homeland, and you can bet it will contain intellectual stimulation and pure unadulterated weirdness in equal measure. An album will follow the Homeland tour in 2009. More info
