The Silvertones were founded in 1993 by Brian Wicker and Kyle Copeland. The original line-up included Joe Williams (bass), Brent Childers (drums) and Bill Jones (vocals). Their inaugural gig was at The Filling Station in Terrell, Texas.
Like all bands, The Silvertones have had several line-up changes through the years. One of the most influential Silvertones members was Walter Delesandri on lead guitar. Sadly, Walt passed away in 2003 from a massive heart attackâhe is still greatly missed. Walt’s widow, Carol, maintains a strong connection with the band as their friend and freelance photographer.
The Silvertones’ musicâabout half of which is originalâreflects the various influences that the band members grew up with. It's primarily blues, with hints of jazz, swing, rockabilly and rock and roll.
