Band History
The Slack began slowly in 2004 as an idea more than a band. Dallas musicians Chris Holt and Lindsay Graham created the concept of The Slack and began writing songs together over the course of the next year. Eric Neal and Chris Carmichael joined the band, but unfortunately the band stalled, due to Holt's demanding schedule with his other bands, so The Slack became defunct. They were called "the best band that never was"... until now.
In February 2007, Chris Holt and Eric Neal resurrected
The Slack with drummer Tom Bridwell, keyboardist
Steven Luthye, and bassist David Deshazo. The Slack
has two full-length albums set for release in 2007 -
"Summer Reverb" (a Holt/Bridwell album that was
originally released in 2005), and the brand new
"Wishful Sinking," featuring all five members.
And so ladies and gentlemen - better late than never - welcome back The Slack.
