Spector 45 released their first 16-track CD, Sixteen with a Bullet, in 2003. The average age of the band was sixteen at the time. With the band's second CD, they chose quality over quantity, resulting in the 2004 five song EP Girls Cars & Rock n' Roll.

The band has shared the stage with the Violent Femmes, The Dwarves, Old 97's, the Nekromantix, Throwrag, the Legendary Shack Shakers, the Vibrators, the Epoxies, Riverboat Gamblers, New Model Army, the Letters Organize, Lower Class Brats, Total Chaos, Deathray Davies, Burden Brothers, Sixer and the Turbo AC's.
