Spector’s Gun Collection is a tight knit group who grew up with the music they play and bring a lifetime of classic rock to the stage. This strong collection of rock and rollers have logged over 3 decades of making music together and as Mark Varel, one of the band’s founding members, says, “ We’re playing the songs that made us want to become musicians in the first place.”
The band’s original grouping in the '70s included Mark, Paul, Kevin and Michael, and as The Menagerie, they made their mark on the Dallas music scene for many years, spawning numerous recordings and a handful of radio singles launched by the infamous rock station “The Zoo,” including the rock radio anthem, “Life is a Zoo.”
“Spector's Gun Collection is sort of a six degrees of Clapton band,” says band member Michael Brown, “Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek & the Dominoes, Beatles, Stones, Morrison, even the Allman Brothers....it's all the great music that we love to listen to and love to play even more."

Kevin,
I had lunch with Jimmy Kellum today and was so thrilled to hear how well your band is doing and that you have a website! I am going to try to make a show one of these days...I've been a fan ever since you played "Snoopy and the Red Baron" in fifth grade!!
