Founding Member Kenn Youngar decided to reform his 8 year project, Strangleweed, after a year of touring with Paris based rockers Turning Point. Withing that year Kenn recorded an album, shot a video and did a 32 day tour with Immortal Records Recording artists Adema, performed with Heaven and Hell, Queensryche, Shadows Fall and Alice Cooper.
To cap the year off Turning Point was nominated for 4 Grammys at the 2008 50th annual Grammy Awards then toured Costa Rica to benefit the Roberta Felix Foundation.
Unfortunately the band dissolved after last January's tour but the MySpace page still exists as a reminder of what can be accomplished in one short year while half the band was not even legal to consume alcohol. Strangleweed's 8-year history continues in full force with Neal Andreason, and the addition of Mesquite native Art Struck and Georgia native Dallas Duff.
The bands' four newest songs from their upcoming EP were recorded at Palmyra Studios in Palmer, TX by Paul 'Pappy' Middleton (Erykah Badu, Chris Issac, Bonnie Raitt) and mastered by George Geurin at DES Mastering (Burden Brothers, Bush, Blue October) .
