Genre: Classical
RIYL: Big city orchestra at little city prices
Formed: 2000
City: Arlington, TX
Web site: http://www.symphonyarlington.org
In its debut season, Symphony Arlington performances were held in the C. A. Roberson Theater at the Southeast Campus of Tarrant County College. With overwhelming community support, the symphony entered its second season in the larger and more centrally located Rosebud Theater in the E.H. Hereford University Center on the campus of the University of Texas at Arlington. And in 2005, the group found a new home in the state-of-the-art, 3,200-seat MetroCenter theater.
Maestro Robert Carter Austin has received critical acclaim for his diverse and creative seasons as well as the informative and often humorous program notes he delivers from the stage.
The musicians of Symphony Arlington share a working agreement with the cities of Irving and Garland.
