Tame..Tame And Quiet formed over the summer of 2004. In July of that year, Darren's previous band, Benway, played their final show, bringing the four year-old band to an amicable end. At the time, Aaron was focusing on a solo recording project after the break up of his previous band, The Scenic Routes, the year before. Upon hearing of Benway's eminent demise, Aaron immediately phoned Darren, and the two began forming the idea that would become Tame..Tame And Quiet.
While Darren was used to noise and dissonance, he wanted to do more with melody. Conversely, Aaron had been involved in more relaxed projects and was looking for more volume and heaviness. So the two quickly found a middle ground where both could express ideas that complimented what the other was trying to accomplish. The writing and collabloration began in August 2004.
With some material ready, and ideas fleshed out into songs, the search for a drummer began. As it so happens, the very first drummer Aaron and Darren came across turned out to be a perfect fit, stylistically and creatively. Enter Boyd Dixon, who recently split from his band, Smile For Society, to pursue a more varied musical course. After the first practice session, which was also an audition of sorts for all three, it was agreed that Boyd was the ideal drummer for what they were trying to accomplish.
Thus Tame..Tame and Quiet was founded with the intention of bringing music that is unique and interesting to North Texas.
