The Texas Three

The Texas Three

(Disbanded)

Genres: Country, Cover and Tribute Bands

Sound description: Texas honky-tonk dance music

Formed: 1995

City: Henderson, TX

Web site: http://www.thetexasthree.com

The band was originally formed in 1995 as the "Texas Tradition Band," but changed their name in 2005 to "The Texas Three." They play a mixture of a lot of classic country, plus some Western swing, rockabilly, blues, easy listening, Cajun and Tex-Mex - basically a little of everything Texans love to dance too. The band also has a few original songs they like to play.

In 2001, Don and Sue Lummus were inducted into the Lone Star State Country Music Association (LSSCMA) Hall of Fame, and Lee Pettijohn was named Instrumentalist of the Year by the LSSCMA.

In 2006, Don and Sue decided to retire The Texas Three, but continue to perform as a duo under the name Don & Sue, The Texas Two.
