Band History
The Orbans, formerly known as The Lifters, may wear cowboy boots but they have branded their own take on new age americana rock and roll. The latest band of players to back singer songwriter Peter Black, The Orbans took shape in 2009 with the addition of drummer Cooper Heffley and keys player Justin Pate. A Dallas native, Black's first music project Thief has evolved over the past few years under a few different names. The band released an EP titled, Switchblade Waterpistol under the name Lifters in 2008 and spent most of their time playing shows to support the release. The Orbans, now working on the first full length album, have made the EP available as a free download through their website www.theorbans.com. Working with producer Adam Lasus (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Yo La Tengo), the band plans to have the first record completed near the end of 2009.
