Sound description: The Stones meet the Pixies meet the Strokes
Formed: 2005
City: Dallas, TX
Just when garage inches further away from its forefathers, The Fieros (formerly The Valentines) come swaggering in like The Strokes with the old soul of the Rolling Stones. Formed in March 2005, this Dallas-based band is no stranger to monster choruses and big crowds - just name-check the members'power-pop credits: Tripp Fontaine, The Broadcast and The Now to name a few. But The Fieros make a departure from any specific scene. Classic three-part harmonies and solid, smart melodies give old-school rock influences the mature update club stages and record store racks need.
