Watusi was founded in 1982 by Jimi Towry in Dallas, TX, who formerly began first known reggae group in Texas in 1976 called Bali in Denton, TX, inspired and mentored by the late Wailer Peter Tosh. The group has since performed from coast to coast, Hawaii, Jamaica, Cancun, headlined reggae festivals, performed with top reggae group including all the Marleys, Steel Pulse, UB40, Burning Spear, Black Uhuru, Big Mountain, etc...
