Coffee Classes
Posted By Bob Baker in Coffee Talk on August 21, 2006
The request we’ve had more than just about any other at White Rock Coffee is, “Why don’t you guys teach a coffee class”. Between all the running around and running into each other Nancy and I finally have our act enough together to hold our first series of
coffee classes beginning Monday September 11th starting at 7pm. These classes will run every Monday from 7-9pm. Tuition is just $25 and includes a pound of freshly roasted coffee. For more information or to sign up call 214-341-6645

The classes will cover coffee origins and what characteristics coffees have from each major growing region. Brewing techniques and how brewing the same coffee different ways will affect the flavors and mouth feel of the coffee. Roasting, and how the roasting method changes the coffee and in turn changes the flavor. We will do a roast on both a home coffee roaster, as well as our large commercial roaster. Finally, Socially Responsible Coffee, how it is grown and who does it benefit.

Why not have a heroin class? A bunch of people getting together to talk rapturously about their drug of choice just sounds, oh, so fascinating. A free balloon and clean syringes will be given with the tuition of a pound of flesh.
