A delicious challenge!

PegNews friends, we've been given a dare: Find “something cool†for three folks from Liverpool, England, to do in Dallas. I was asked so politely for advice by Adam R., a Twitter follower who says we seem to know what we're doing when it comes to going out, eating, and listening to music.

But before I submit the final list of suggestions for the itinerary, I open it up to you! What should these fine people do in DFW?

Here's more about them:

The visitors are three new business clients from Liverpool -- 2 females, 1 male, all aged in early- to mid-40's.

They're arriving Thursday afternoon, February 11. They have dinner set up for Thursday at Adam's house. They are looking for suggestions of entertainment after dinner on Thursday, as well as dinner and entertainment ideas for Friday. For Friday's dinner, he requests a place not as fancy as the Mansion, but also not too trendy.

“What I would like (is) to take them out on the town ... something fun, but sophisticated. Something with a Texas flair,†Adam tells me. “Usually when folks come in from out of the country and they want to experience Texas, I take them to the Stockyards in Fort Worth. We could do that, but I am not keen on driving to and from Fort Worth late at night. They have expressed an interest in jazz music or blues.â€

Also keep in mind that it's NBA All-Star Weekend. I've got some ideas, but want to know what you think, too. After Adam and his guests go out on the town, he'll write us back to report how the experience was.

Absolutely, positively take them to Love & War in Texas. They divide the state into regions, with each region corresponding to a theme (Seafood from the Texas Gulf Coast, Steak from the West Texas Plains, etc). The Hill Country section includes wild boar, antelope, venison, and quail -- all delicious.

They serve Dublin Dr Pepper, another essential part of the Texas experience (without driving to Erath County).

And to top it all off, they have great Texas music on the patio. That makes it an option for Thursday, for drinks and music on the patio after their existing dinner plans.

Tons of info at their website: http://www.loveandwarintexas.com/

I'd do Henderson to start after dinner at his place. Great drinks at Victor Tango, The Porch, and then hit Barcadia. I think Barcadia is actually a must, even if you have to skip Victor Tango to do it.

Hit up La Cubanita for a dinner or brunch. Maybe run up to Cretia's for a drink and live music. Then head down to McKinney - Black Friar, Gingerman, and maybe some others, though if they like beer those two could be a whole night, with the possibility of good music.

Urbano for dinner one night is also great (they have the best meals in Dallas at the moment), hitting up Jimmy's for wine first, and maybe ducking into Spicer's before all of that if he's open, just to check out what he has.

Unfortunately Dallas really lacks stuff to see. Driving over the somewhat creepy "x" where JFK was shot is always an interesting thing to see, but there's not much else around.

I'd also take a day trip to Bishop Art's. Tacos at Fuel City (you said classy, right?) is an experience worth having. It's TX, and though I like to show people how un-TX Dallas can be because I'm not from here, I also find that friends who visit actually want to experience a little bit of what their pre-conceived notion of what this city is like.

Chubby Carrier is playing at Pearl that Friday night - that should be a legit party.

Sarah Blaskovich, staff:

Thanks for your ideas, guys. I sent Adam R. a list of cool things he could do, and the wintry weather sort of messed up nearly all of his plans.

He tells me, "I decided to go for the gusto and check out the Chubby Carrier option (on Friday). We drove up to Pearl and the lights were out. Apparently the band could not make it from Louisiana and so they didn't even open the bar. We then went for a pint at Barcadia ... but my friends were really tired and pretty much wanted to go back to the hotel."

A valiant effort on all fronts. Thanks for letting us (attempt to) party plan, Adam R.!
