Ok, answered my own question. The answer is, yes, it's a different feed. Now I can enter the contests and be more frustrated when I lose. Hooray!

Yes, we have a Contests RSS feed that's separate from the latest stories. You can keep up with both feeds though if you follow @pegasusnews on Twitter.
