Another idea for Deep Ellum: Free wi-fi?

The One That's Not About Music

Published: April 8, 2006

I travel about town a good bit lately, and I've noticed that Deep Ellum is the only place in town where I can't find a wi-fi connection, paid or free. There are lots of wi-fi signals, but they're all secured.

I know I usually sneer at folks with Austin-envy, but there is something nice about being able to get online while enjoying an afternoon cocktail.

And a wi-fi signal would have made our experience at the DEAF much more pleasant and productive.

Yeah, it's hard to imagine life without being able to access the internet anywhere in the world for free.
