(And Free Wi-Fi!)

The One That's Not About Music

On my old blog, I wrote about the demise of the Gabberts Outlet, the store where April and I bought much of our furniture.

Now, the Minneapolis-based company is calling it quits for their Dallas and Fort Worth stores. I got the word via an ad flyer.

I bring this up only to point out that this is the kind of local news that is far more relevant to folks in their daily lives than, say---

Oops. I was going to use this as a cheap opportunity to mock Our Daily Newspaper's choice of metro lede. Than I saw this bit about free wi-fi throughout Dallas. That's freakin' sweet.

As a kid growing up with a single mom with a penchant for home decorating...we used to spend countless hours at Gabberts on many a night. I still remember the "kids area" where my brother and I would enjoy free hot chocolate and cookies while watching teevee so my mom was free to shop to her heart's content...aaaaaaah memories...
