Transparency & Traffic

Posted By Mike Orren in The One That's Not About Music on July 3, 2006

This was our biggest month yet in terms of total visits, and was a dead heat with April's Mavs mania for pageviews. I know that Sam and Hunter were awfully worried about us -- Rest easy, boyos. We seem to be hanging in there:

  • 233,114 visits (+16%)
  • 1,270,4677 user pageviews (+7%)
  • 5.6 PV/visit (-8%)
  • 5.5 minutes/visit (-15%)
  • 12,839 downloads (+45%)
  • 65,636 referrals (+45%)
  • 1,207 voluntary registered users (+17%)
  • 678 new comments (+26%)
Of particular note this month, the mobile edition really seems to be taking off. Right now it just has the daily best bets and show listings. 4,891 visits (+63%) for 100,002 pageviews (+120%). Will be interesting to see what happens to those numbers when we add drink specials and movie listings.

And the fun stuff:

Top bands:

We seem to have found the "long tail's" equilibrium point, as the averages are about the same as last month -- average band page viewed 133 times; 797 bands viewed more than 83 times.
