True-ly awful
Posted By Mike Orren in The One That's Not About Music on June 1, 2006
I seem to have started a discussion of True's sleazy MySpace ads on one of my favorite media/PR blogs.
The Dallas-based dating service that positions itself as a safe, upstanding alternative floods MySpace with ads when the majority of MySpace's users aren't even old enough to use the service. And the images in those ads are of girls who don't look old enough to drive (at least in the face).
Did I mention that MySpace has had problems with pedophiles and predators?
Anyway, to crib from my comments on Media Orchard. I got no problem with sexy pictures. Sexy is good. However, "sexy and seventeen" (at best) may work as a Stray Cats tune, but not as a business model.

Yea, I actually think Brian Setzer was actually 17 when he wrote that tune

Anyone who knows who Brian Setzer is is WAY too old to be on MySpace.
