Why does Tommy Hernandez rock so?
Posted By Mike Orren in The One That's Not About Music on May 2, 2006
I don't know anything about Tommy Hernandez' music. But, moments ago he was entered into our system as the 1,000th local band page.
When we first got together with Cindy back in November, we estimated that there might be 500 active local bands.
But there are more than one thousand. Wow. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that this is the biggest comprehensive list of local bands anywhere.
And here's a long-tail stat for you econo-geeks as well as those who will contend that no one wants to hear about a bunch of so-called "crap bands":
809 bands' pages were viewed more than 79 times last month.
Somebody's out there and listening.
