Win tickets to the “Don’t Mess With Texas Music” Fest this weekend!

Posted By Mike Orren in The One That's Not About Music on May 23, 2006

In our never-ending efforts to bribe you into submission enrich your TexasGigs experience, we've scored you some free tickets to the "Don't Mess With Texas Music" Memorial Day Music Festival this weekend at The Gaylord Texan.

We've got a goodly number of tickets for Friday, which features Dave Alexander, Lantana and fiddle prodigy Damian Greene.

Ditto for Saturday, which features a Memorial Day Patriotic Tribute featuring the Calvacade of Stars with the Brent Van Sickle Orchestra.

But only one lucky winner will score a pair of tickets to catch Delbert McClinton on Sunday.

On any day (and for most of the summer), you can also check out the "Austin City Limits" exhibit, which includes a recreation of the Austin City Limts studios, including the trademark Austin skyline backdrop, and a stage that will feature live music performances throughout the exhibit's run. The exhibit highlights 90 high-definition photos spanning three decades of performances from Austin City Limits photographer Scott Newton. Also, there will be several technology-driven features, including a virtual director's booth, a slide show featuring additional photos from Austin City Limits vaults, interactive kiosks allowing visitors to access film footage of Austin City Limits performances, and two documentary films on the show.

So how to win? Since the Gaylord's festivals benefit the Texas Music Project, and Michael Clay is doing the booking, let's do this:

Answer the following question in the comments below:

What one Texas musician NOT currently featured on TexasGigs is your favorite and why?

Answer in the comments below, and indicate what day(s) you'd like tickets. First-come first-served for Friday and Saturday. For Sunday, we'll draw and announce one lucky winner on Friday morning.

Good luck!
