We've alluded a lot to the things we're doing towards the launch of Pegasus News at the end of the month. Because we're doing that while maintaining TexasGigs, you'll start noticing some little changes. And because we're actually building around TG, as opposed to a second site, you may even trip into some things that aren't really ready for prime-time yet. Just know that if it's not music, you slipped into a construction area, so we're not warranting that stuff-- yet.

One thing in particular you may notice (which is why I decided to write this post now) is that our event categories and searches look a little different.

For instance, an event that used to be tagged:

Now says:

Categories:

• DY>Lifestyle>Arts>Popular Music>Bluegrass>

Don't be frightened. We'll soon clean that up to be prettier. What you're seeing is a part of our mechanism for delivering you customized content on Pegasus News. "DY" means "Daily You." And we have more than 2,500 of these little tags that will allow users who want it to have their homepage, hubpages and advertising on the site automagically customized.

So, for instance, while we'll still have all the great broad local music coverage we have now, If all you listen to is Bluegrass and Screamo, content on that will lead your music section. And so on...
