Interesting commentary from Robert Decherd on the newspaper industry's new partnership with Yahoo!.

May not matter, it seems, since a new Christian media company is buying Belo.

Holding breath...

Done.

What are we supposed to make up New Life's mission of "bringing truth to the nation?" Should "truth" be read "Christianity?"

I think "truth" should be read "hoax." Very little info out there on any of the principals and the company looks to have nothing to show but a bunch of press releases saying who they intend to buy.

Sounds like a PR stunt to me. There's no way they'll acquire all those properties.

And more importantly, I'm a bit concerned about WHO'S "Truth" they intend on bringing to the nation? Life itself has proven that there's no such thing as "truth," in a world of varying spiritual values.

Don't get me wrong, it's alright for them to live THEIR "truth;" but their traditional philosophies are even more ancient than Belo's if they believe that they can influence the rest of the public into their way of life. Things just don't work that way.
