So there was an All-Star game on TV, eh?

Posted By Blair Lovern in Square Pegs on January 24, 2007

Man, I like hockey. But could a major sport do a lousier job putting this thing on TV? Oh - hahaha. Silly me. It was on the Versus network.

WHATTHEHELLISTHAT?!

Screw you, it's the network for martial arts battles, so scah-rew you. You don't know what the hell you're talking about. You think you do, but you know what? You don't what the hell you're talking about.

Sorry, I was too busy watching lousy contestants berate Simon for speaking the truth on American Idol because I couldn't find the game.

Todd Maternowski, says:

That's too bad, 'cause this was one of the most entertaining all-star contests I've seen in quite some time. The highlight, besides all of the sweet goal scoring, was the third period, in which Dallas' own Marty Turco was miked up during play -- effortlessly making amazingly acrobatic stops while ribbing the snooze-inducing announcers. Normally "miked up" means four or five two-second sound clips that are more or less unintelligible, but Turco was entertaining the television audience for nearly ten minutes off-and-on. Great stuff.

I couldn't find the game either! I have several hundred cable channels and I surfed 'em all. I even went to nhl.com where they said the game was on several channels I've never even heard of. Finally, I decided it must have been blacked out in Big D. But it has been fun watching all the NHL activities around town.

Gary Cohen, says:

The game was on the VS channel (formerly the Outdoor Life Network), which nowadays is the outlet for most nationally-televised NHL games. No blackout, just obscure.
